Definition
A mandatory identity verification process required by SEBI and AMFI before investing in mutual funds or other securities. KYC involves submitting PAN, Aadhaar, address proof, and a photograph. It is a one-time exercise — once completed through any SEBI-registered intermediary, it is valid across the mutual fund industry.

Before starting your first SIP, you need to complete KYC verification by submitting your PAN, Aadhaar, and bank details either online (eKYC) or through a KRA like CAMS or KFintech.
