ETF(ExchangeTradedFund)
Definition
A type of investment fund that is listed and traded on stock exchanges like individual shares. ETFs typically track an index (like Nifty 50 or Gold) and offer lower expense ratios than actively managed funds. Buying and selling ETFs requires a demat account.
Example
A Nifty 50 ETF holds shares of all 50 companies in the Nifty 50 index in the same proportion, and its price moves in line with the index throughout the trading day.
