Mutual Funds

Definition

The total market value of all investments managed by a mutual fund house, PMS, or financial institution. AUM is an indicator of the size and scale of a fund house. Higher AUM can indicate investor trust but does not guarantee better returns.

Example

If a mutual fund scheme manages investments worth Rs 10,000 crore from all its investors, its AUM is Rs 10,000 crore.
